The Kidde Wireless Smoke Detector enables families to install an interconnected smoke alarm system in their home without any rewiring. This is an interconnected, battery-powered system that provides an earlier warning to fire because it links with other alarms and components of the Kidde Wireless System - when one alarm sounds, they all sound. This provides more warning in more places (can even be placed in a detached workshop or shed and linked into the home's system) and gives individuals more time to escape.

Features Include:

  • Wireless technology uses radio frequency to transmit and receive messages about danger in a home; Ceiling or wall installation with no wiring required.
  • Battery Powered feature enables homeowners to install interconnected smoke alarms in existing homes without rewiring. It provides continuous protection (when batteries properly replaced), even during a long-term power outage. In normal operation, three AA batteries (included) will power the unit for up to a year.
  • 85 decibel alarm loud enough to wake most sleeping adults
  • Smart Touch Button quickly and temporarily silences nuisance alarms
  • Red LED light flashes in conjunction with alarm beep; Low Battery Warning chirps once a minute with flashing red LED light
